THE INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS
The Institution of Engineers (India) IE(I)
head quartered in Kolkata , is a professional institution established based on a recommendation by the Sir Thomas Hulland , president of the Indian Industrial Commission during 1916-1918 to the Government of India. The IE(I) aims to promote the needs of the student community, acts as a platform to connect with global engineers and actively encourages R&D programs through various promotional aids. In addition supporting many types of activities such as Lectures, Seminars, Symposia, Workshops and other educational programs.
The benefits of being a member of IE are the following:
- Various technical events like seminars, industrial visits, group discussions, technical quiz competitions, workshops and model/ poster competitions will be organized throughout the year with sponsor and banner of IEI.
- An Annual Students’ Convention with a Seminar on a topical subject and Technical Session will be conducted to provide a platform for presentation of technical papers and building fellowship and opportunities for networking with peers and senior members to the Institution.
- Opportunity to participate in technical events e.g. Seminars, Symposia, Conventions, Workshops etc. organized by various IEI centers at State, National and International levels at a concessional rate of 20%.
- Scholarships for selected student members will be given by IEI.
- R & D grant from IEI
