The National Energy Conservation Week Celebrations- 2023 were organized in Shadan Women’s College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad from 14th to 20th December 2023 with great enthusiasm and zeal, to highlight the importance of energy conservation in all walks of life. The Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department of the college organized various activities and events to promote the importance of energy conservation among the students, staff, and faculty members- in collaboration with Energy Conservation Mission, The Institution of Engineers (India), Telangana State Centre.
Prof. C.B.V. Subbarayudu, Co-Convener, Energy Conservation Mission, IEI (TSC) served as the Chief Coordinator of the celebrations. Dr. Syed Iqbal, Director ( Academic) officiated as the Chief Guest, while Dr. P. Himabindu, Vice- Principal and Controller of Examinations, presided over a function held at the institution on 18-12-2023, in which Dr. P. Nithiyanantham, Head, I.Q.A.C., was the Guest of Honour. Dr. K. Premalatha, Mrs. C. Supriya, Ms. Anam Fatima, Mrs. Lalitha, Mr. Sayed Mahaboob, and Mr. A. Prashanth, faculty members, encouraged the participants, facilitated the smooth conduct of events and endeavored tirelessly for the successful conduct of the celebrations, in line with a rich tradition being followed by the college for twelve years in succession.
Activities Conducted
• Energy Walk: An ‘Energy Conservation Awareness Walk’ was conducted on 17-12-2023 with a view to create public awareness on the imminent need and importance of saving energy in all its forms, and in all walks of life.
• Poster Making Competition: A poster making competition was held for the students on the theme of ‘Saving Energy, Saving Earth’, on 18-12- 2023.
• Slogan Writing Competition: A slogan writing competition was organized for students on the topic of ‘Energy Conservation in Daily Life’, on 18-12-2023.
• Guest Lectures: Eminent personalities from the energy sector which included speakers from The Institution of Engineers (India) and the Telangana State Pollution Control Board, delivered guest lectures to the students and staff on the importance of energy conservation during the Energy Conservation Week.
